As you can infer from my post title, week one of weight loss was great!
Beginning Weight: 173.2
Week 1 Weight: 172.0
Total Weight Loss: 1.2lbs
Now I will be honest and say, at first, I was slightly disappointed. I really thought that after the first week of eating more strictly, I'd see a 3-5lb loss, much like my first week on Weight Watchers. That didn't happen, but then I remembered that I had a fun weekend: I chose to have a slice of cake at an event on Saturday and ice cream cake to celebrate David's birthday on Sunday (the night before weigh-in). Also probably did not help that my body wasn't awake enough to be totally "empty" on Monday morning before weighed in and then ate breakfast. However, I remember the old motto of "any progress is progress" and I'm happy that the scale is at least going down for the first time in months!
In other news, my new work pants that I dreaded ordering arrived last week and I LOVE them, even if they are two sizes larger than I want to be. I finally feel good in dress pants again, proving that size doesn't matter and people look better when their clothes actually fit correctly. No more awkwardly squeezing into my too-tight pants and constantly adjusting to try to hid my muffin top. I am, however, very excited to eventually get back into those pants when they will no longer be too-tight!
The last week and a half have been generally easy to accomplish with my food. As predicted, being back into the swing of work and a schedule makes it easier for me. I need order in my life and being on such a tight, set schedule forces me to really think ahead and plan my meals out. Also, not sitting at home next to a full kitchen is always helpful!
One of my three drinking weekends is approaching this weekend: Bachelorette party fun :) I don't plan to get crazy, but I will definitely enjoy a drink or two and celebrate! I will just be sure to behave, since Labor Day is also happening this weekend and a cook-out is in my future.
Wish me luck and will power!
